Overview

StemProtein was founded in 2014 as a subsidiary of Stemedica Cell Technologies, Inc. We manufacture Stem Cell Factors (SCFs) that include proteins, polysaccharides, and membrane-enclosed vesicles carrying RNA molecules involved in gene regulation. We manufacture these factors in a heat-stable form that does not require refrigeration. StemProtein uses a patented preservation technology called “Preservation by Vaporization” (PBV).  PBV is a vacuum foam drying method that reliably stabilizes complex biological structures such as live bacteria and viruses, which traditional freeze drying methods often fail to preserve [ref; ref]. Independent studies show that bioactive proteins, such as monoclonal antibodies, benefit from stabilization by foam drying technology [ref]. Our protein growth factors do not deteriorate during prolonged storage at ambient temperatures, and can thus withstand brief exposure to very high temperatures (+50°C) that often occur during shipping.
